I am not particular on pampering myself with spa treatments, especially when I could be out hiking and swimming, but my typically dry skin is no match for summer. I wanted to do something special for myself as well as help my dry skin in the changing weather. The Euro Institute’s Pina Colada Body Scrub was exactly what I needed.
Lilia, my student esthetician, instantly made me feel warm and welcomed. This was great because typically, I am more on the shy side. The foot soak was a nice start to the treatment and helped me relax in my private treatment room. As much as our feet do for us, like trekking through the woods in hiking boots, it’s important to give them a little extra love sometimes. Which is exactly what this treatment does, it takes care of the skin we tend to neglect!
The scent of the scrub alone took me out of Renton. A perfect aroma of coconut and pineapple that doesn’t drown your senses, but evokes them.
It felt incredible to have my legs exfoliated, the salt was delicate, but soothing. Lilia’s pressure was spot on. In the beginning, she asked me if the pressure was okay and it helped to set the tone of the total treatment. When she was done with the exfoliation of all my dry skin, she applied warm coconut oil for hydration. It was unbelievably relaxing. It was such a great way to heal and rest from the long hike I had yesterday. I put my body through so many adventures, it felt really good to give back to it. Self-care is all balance after all.
My skin felt like silk when I got up and I felt absolutely refreshed. The calmness of the spa, the knowledge of the esthetician, and tropical vibe scents made for a fantastic trip to the Euro Institute. - Emily E.
