Cozy Sweaters, Red Leaves, and Pumpkin Everywhere – Exfoliation for Fall

Autumn is a beautiful season in the Pacific Northwest. The colors of trees began to change and the air shifts to being crisp and clear. It is a season of release, a time to focus on the essential and shed what is unnecessary. Like the Vata Dosha in Ayurvedics, Fall is dry and cool and should be addressed accordingly. Just as you began to add in a sweater or two to your Fall transition, you should begin adding in additional items in your skin care regime as well.

As with all seasons, a great skin care routine includes exfoliation. However, in Fall, it is particularly helpful and should be added in once or twice weekly for all skin types. To reflect the changing temperatures outside, an AHA exfoliation is particularly helpful as it will help to exfoliate the damage done by the harsh sun of the summer months. Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s) clear blemishes, hydrate the skin, and lighten by loosening one to several layers of dead cells that can build up and cling to the skin's surface. Loosening these bonds allow for the Fall shedding and for fresh and clear skin to begin to appear.

A foundation of our principle beliefs at Euro Institute is utilizing all-natural products to accomplish heavy skin care goals. Pumpkin is an excellent ingredient for many skin types and an easy addition to a facial or a weekly routine. For Fall exfoliation, we recommend adding in pumpkin with our Pumpkin Enzyme Dermal Exfoliation Puree. Pumpkin is a powerful AHA that contains the antioxidants Vitamin A and Vitamin C. These vitamins help to promote that natural shedding and boost collagen production to prevent and treat fine lines and wrinkles as well as free radical damage from the sun. Those antioxidants are great for protection and halting damage! Our exfoliator also contains zinc, which assists acne clients with slowing oil production and promoting overall skin healing.

Do you currently exfoliate? If not, try this transitional time to add in an exfoliator once or twice week. Your skin will be grateful!
