How About a Good Scrub?

You don't have to be a skincare product specialist to make your own body scrubs. They are easy to make (the kids can help!) and they really work. Body scrubs are very popular on social media and DIY websites because they're so user friendly. Here are a few of our favorites. Here's a tip: For the oatmeal scrub, try our Colloidal Oat Enzyme Mask. It's pure and finely ground so you can eliminate the grinding step. Add a couple of tablespoons to the bath or mix with water or a carrier oil to create a quick facial mask that soothes and softens the skin, and helps eliminate redness and irritation.

Easy Salt Scrub Recipe

1 cup finely ground salt (tip: use a combination of salts like Dead Sea, Himalayan, or your personal favorites)

1/3 cup (approx.) sweet almond oil or sunflower oil

8-10 drops grapefruit essential oil, 8 drops bergamot oil, 4 drops peppermint oil (or make your own blend of approximately 15-20 drops total essential oil)

In a glass or ceramic bowl, add essential oil to salt and stir thoroughly. Add almond or sunflower oil gradually, stirring continuously. Stop when the scrub reaches the consistence of moist sand. Apply the scrub to your body in the shower and rinse. The oils left on your skin will lubricate the skin and help with overall hydration.
