Let's Mask!

The mask has always been my favorite part of a facial - both performing and receiving them. And I think the benefits of masking are very underestimated!

Masks are really popular these days and for good reason. They deliver real benefits to the skin and don't have to be very expensive. And it's something you can easily incorporate into your homecare routine.

When you have a professional facial, the facial mask is applied after cleansing, skin analysis, exfoliation,

extractions, and massage. Facial masks treat your particular skin type or condition, whether it's dry, dehydrated, sensitive, irritated, or oily.

Facial masks generally stay on the skin for 10 to 15 minutes and contain ingredients like clay, black moor mud, aloe vera, seaweed, algae, essential oils, enzymes, herbs, and vitamins. Once removed, your esthetician completes the facial with a moisturizer, eye cream, lip balm, and if it's day-time, sunscreen. Ahhh.

One sign of a good facial is when the esthetician stays with you during the mask segment, performing massage (like our signature hand and arm massage!) or some other service that enhances your experience. However, whether you are in the spa or purchase one of our masks for home care, a mask can go a long way to improving the overall health of your skin.

A face mask is intended to treat your particular skin condition, so it's important to choose the right one for you. Part of your service at the Euro spa is having your esthetician recommend home care products to keep your skin looking as great as it does after your facial.

Depending on their ingredients, masks can tighten and tone, hydrate, nourish, draw out impurities, help blemishes heal, calm and soothe, or rejuvenate the skin—or any combination. There are several types of masks including clay, cream, powder and gel varieties, each of which offers its own unique benefits.

Clay masks, which contain clay, kaolin, or bentonite for their tightening and sebum-absorbing effects, help draw oil and dirt to the surface of the skin. Meanwhile, cream masks or gel masks are formulated to hydrate and nourish the skin. Our Algae Lifting Powder mask hardens into a rubber mask which your esthetician peel off, providing a tightening and lifting experience you can feel immediately.

The best part about a Euro spa treatment is that you can discuss each product with your esthetician before you commit. Or try a sample.
